VUSD Redwood High School New Academic Wing

Redwood High School, West Main Street, Visalia, CA, USA

CM Construction Services, Inc. was hired to manage the construction of a new 2-story classroom building which was needed at the Redwood High School campus to ease overcrowding and replace outdated modular buildings.

The scope of the project consisted of:

  • Removal and renovation of (8) existing modular buildings.

  • Construction of a new 2-story building with (16) classrooms which included student restrooms, staff restrooms, elevator/stairs, storage and janitorial rooms.

  • Concrete improvements as required to allow for an accessible path of travel from the existing parking lots to the new building.

CMCS provided full construction management services which included pre-construction and construction activities. CMCS was able to coordinate with local jurisdiction to coordinate requirements for tying into the City's storm drain system. We also worked with the local water company for the new fire line which was required to supply water to the building fire sprinkler system.

CMCS played a vital role in coordinating with AT&T as an unforeseen condition arose at the beginning of this project where the main data-communication lines were directly under the footprint of the new building. CMCS was able to expedite the extensive process of ordering new fiber optic and copper lines to the site to avoid any impact on the project's critical path schedule.
