VUSD Ridgeview Middle School

CM Construction Services, Inc. was hired to manage the construction of Ridgeview Middle School which was needed to ease overcrowding at the 4 other middle schools within the District. This project was split into two separate increments to allow for DSA review of all plans and specifications as well as contractor bid procurement. The first increment of the project consisted of all earthwork (site grading, building pads, ponding basin), storm drain, sewer and water installation.

The second increment of the project consisted of the construction of the full school campus:

• 2‐Story academic building which includes administration offices, library, computer lab, 31 classrooms, storage and restrooms.

• Multi‐purpose building with full production kitchen, multipurpose room with stage, student store, band and choir classrooms.

• Gym/Locker building with regulation basketball court & bleachers, boys & girls locker rooms and coaches offices.

CMCS took lead in the coordination with all local utility companies to bring infrastructure to the entire school site in both increments of the project. This was comprised of bringing new AT&T communication lines, high pressure gas piping per site and future city improvement demands, tie‐in to existing city water system, and continuous coordination with Southern California Edison to relocate existing power poles currently within the scope of work for the road improvements required to establish a dedicated path of travel to the site.
