City of Visalia: Police Substations 1 & 2

Visalia Police Substation District 1

The City of Visalia simultaneously designed and built two 8,000 SF police stations, one in the north part of town and one in the south. Each two-story Essential Services police station was constructed simultaneously on separate sites. The building exterior wall materials used straw bale, which provides superior insulation for reduced energy use and increased security. Sustainable design features utilize building orientation, natural ventilation, and daylight to reduce the City's annual operational costs.
